Well I was looking around for things similar to Carefresh but that are much cheaper. I came across some Megazorb on ebay and it seemed pretty cheap and was thinking of getting it. Is it any good? It looks a lot similar to Carefresh, just cheaper :)

I tried it between swopping from shavings onto fleece but I didn't like it. I felt like I was using more and more to get any kind of absorbtion (spelling?) and it weighed a ton when it was wet.

I like it. I switched to it from shavings. It doesn't smell as much as shavings, and it doesn't irritate my allergies as much. It seems better for my pigs' feet too. It seems more absorbent than lots of other options, and it doesn't smell too bad when its soiled. I think it might be a bit cheaper too, but as we use it for all our pigs and our rats we get through a fair bit of it!

I haven't tried carefresh though, so I can't compare the two.

:)

It doesn't look as 'bulky/fluffy' as carefresh. It seems quite tightly compact so I was thinking about the absorbing abilities of it...Hmm I might try a small bag, just to sample it :)

Megazorb comes in huge sacks and its all I would ever use for piggies. I was going to try something different today but could not see anything at cheaper price that I fancied trying out. The price of Megazorb for me is now £7.85 a sack its rocketing in price over the last 18months.

I've tried the piggies on it for the first time this week, and so far so good! It's so absorbent, I can see the full clean being extended. I bought a sack of it for £14.99, and I can see now that it was heavily overpriced, but have found it for cheaper so will know where to go when it gets low.

I used Carefresh for a while, and didn't think it was that great (though this was for my two stinky rat boys!), and wasn't good value for money, it ran out so fast.

Megazorb isn't as bulky as care fresh so may be ok for indoors but it was no good when I was using it in my outdoor hutch.

I also found it really messy and slightly dusty, as it is so light it was soon kicked about and ended up in a corner which wasn't very useful.

Not bad at soaking up the pee but I really didn't like it. Unfortunately I could only get hold of it in great sacks so had to use the whole bloomin thing mallethead

Megazorb can only be brought in huge sacks:) I find it to be the best thing since sliced bread LOL. I have used it in indoor cages and outdoor hutches topped off with hay with no problems. £14.99 by god thats more than steep price for it.

Hmmm...Well I need to find something else to use other then wood shavings in the rabbits litter tray (it turns into some horrible wood cement and can't clean it off D:)
I guess its worth a go :)

I use it because it's the only thing that works out affordable really. Plus it is so absorbent. I don't like to have it on the very top though, as I find that it sticks to veg etc (eg cucumber, peppers etc), so can easily be ingested. I have used Finacard cardboard bedding as the top layer up to now, but I am switching to Finacard paper pellets soon.

I think it's great, but I don't use it in the same way as I did the carefresh (before ditching CF because too expensive long term) I use the megazorb as a floor covering (like shavings) whereas I used CF as a bedding. So I have hay and fleece cosies in the bed compartment, and megazorb on the floor of the main compartment. Newspaper under the lot. Since getting the dust free hay as well, my hubby's allergies haven't twinged at all, so it's a result for me! (he was getting really angry about it before lol) :)

Well I was going to use it in my rabbits litter box (shavings don't seem to do that well) and I would possibly use it as bedding for my piggy. Hmmm I guess Ill buy a sack :) can't hurt to try

I use it for my piggies litter trays with hay over the top and it works brilliantly for that - absorbent and clean for their bums - I have 2 very long haired and they are totally dry.

I also use it for boarding rabbits in their "used" corners - it absorbs far more than shavings and keeps it far cleaner smelling. I do clean the corner out every day, but some rabbits will pee for England and I've found it by far the best. If the rabbits are not used to it they may dig, but I found putting a layer of shaving over the top seemed to work.

I also think, because of it's size, it's not as hard on the feet as Carefresh - that seemed very coarse to me, but I'm not a piggie :)

I have converted most of my long haired piggie boarders onto megazorb with fab results - all the owners now buy it and are extremely happy. The rest (short haired) still use shavings with no problems at all.

Megazorb is more expensive than shavings overall but well worth the expense for me. It is dusty, but no more than some top quality hay I get at times rolleyes
