Due to a change in circumstances, i'm thinking of changing my guineas bedding, they're currently on fleece but a full time job with a 2 1/2 hour commute is meaning i'm constantly behind on their cleaning regime, which isn't fair on them so i want to try something with a little less work required.
One of my guineas is very sensitive to dust and can't be near sawdust without sneezing so it's important that the bedding is dust free.
I've looked at so many reviews and online shops but i'm really struggling to make a decision based on what i've read because i can't figure out what is good value for money and what isn't.
I have a 2x4 C&C and just want to know how far some of these beddings last?
If anyone could tell me what they use, what size they buy and how long it lasts that would be great!
I do really like the look of fitch but 20kg seems very large and storage is a problem!

I'm not sure if Fitch is back in stock yet . Personally, I would look at equine beddings - but it depends what suppliers are available locally. I use Aubiose - but I know some other forum members use Easibed . I recently got a delivery of Finacard - and I quite like that too.

Welcome back by the way it feels like ages since I saw you on here. Hope piggies are well :)

Thank you! Been very busy just finished off my Veterinary Nurse Training!
I have been around lurking in the background when in need of advice, but thought i should finally show my face again :tu:

Welcome back

i use fitch and it's great and virtually dust free, but it doesn't last me very long (o/h thinks i'm over the top with the amount i use and change it though, but i don't agree :)) ) - i use it in their tray aswell as part or most of the cage and do spot cleaning daily and a twice weekly full clean. so maybe weeks between orders if i'm lucky and i order two at a time  (also use it in the rabbits trays though aswell) - i've read that others make it last for a month/s but i honestly have no idea how that is possible!

i tried finacard recently and that's cheaper but quite good actually. i prefer fitch overall but i'm going to be trying fitch and finacard mixed together next because i think they would work well together.

i transfer the fitch into 80ltr plastic storage boxes and one 20kg bale takes up about 2 1/4 boxes :)

Just thought i'd update and say i've decided to try and Finacard, and so far very impressed, especially with how long it's lasted and i've done my cage pretty thick! Will report back when i've had it a little longer, thanks for everyones advice!

Looking forward to hearing the results of this! Keep us posted :)
