Mojo and smudgy are currently in seperate ferplast 80 cages 8...
Recently they have been getting along so well with each other when they have not been in the cages and watch each other through the sides of their cages since they are right next to each other.
So today while they are enjoying the nice weather together I want to put their cages together.
But how do I remove the scents from the cages so it would be a neutral territory so the pigs would not be invading their territories.

The best thing to do would wash it all down with a mild bleach/water solution and rinse thoroughly. x

I use Clean 'n' Safe, it is a disinfectant cleaner and deodorant.

I used bleach and rinsed everything with the hose. However it ended in disaster :(
THey where cuddled up together when I went to get them in, put them in the cage at the time and they started teeth clattering.
Not the normal quiet teeth chatter and they are still clattering at each other even though they are seperated back to the original seperate cage :'(

Oh well, Hope I can afford the new cages soon

hello....you could try washing it down with a vinegar solution....I usually add about a cup of white vinegar to a cup of warm water and wash there entire home in it. We have a C&C cage that my husband built for them and it is a plastic lining that is VERRRY easy to keep clean. We use carefresh bedding and once a week (thats all thats needed) I remove there bedding, vacuum out the dust and then wash it first in hot soapy water....then my vinegar solution and dry it over with a clean cloth. I also like to spray it over in there baby powder spray shampoo so it smells like home for them. You could also try making the smell on the guinea pigs...give them a nice warm bath and use a baby shampoo and dry them off on a low heat setting on your hairdryer...then dab a drop of essential oil of lavender or you can use tea tree oil on the ends of their noses before you put them in their new home. Any toys or bedding or blankets should be washed and dried as well. I hope this helps you and your little darlings xx
