How Can I Stop My Piggies Going Under The Fleece?

Hello!

I have my 4 sows in a c&c cage which they have had for 6 months or more. In the last couple of weeks 2 of them keep going under the fleece and pooping and weeing there which goes sticky and minging. They all have poopy nails now. I've tried to stick it down with velco but it didn't work. Has anyone got any ideas how I can stop them please?

I put an extra fleece for them to go under but it is difficult.

My Sophie was a nightmare for this but we have stopped her by putting a bulldog clip every few inches around the correx. She does have a bit to play under though too.

Thanks. I'm not sure that will work as my fleece fits the bottom without any spare if you know what I mean. I'm guessing they are doing it as it's gone warmer and it is nice and cool on the correx. They really are quite naughty girls! xx

I might try a towel maybe. It might at least stop the poopy feet x

The problem with a towel is they can catch their nails on it.

You could put a ceramic tile or two down on the bits they go under, it would weigh it down and provide a cool place for them to lie on?

Oh yes good point. I might try a thin fleece but I think they will just go under that too! x

I've started putting an extra fleece in just pile it up into the corner and they both enjoy going underneath it.
