It’s my guinea pigs and my first late fall/winter in an apartment complex in Maine where there is no heating beside space heaters (too early for them at the moment) and I’m wondering how I can keep them warm. They are indoors with me in my bedroom and I currently cover half of their cage with a fleece blanket and provide plenty of bedding inside their hideouts (it’s already nearing 20 degree weather here). I’m just worried that isn’t enough. Side note I need a fan on low in order to sleep as I have breathing problems from long term smoking and need “fresh air” in order to sleep but am willing to find alternatives.

Covering the cage with a blanket is certainly one we would suggest!
Others are to fill hides or cardboard boxes with lots of soft hay for them to snuggle into.
Also, snugglesafe heatpads are very good - you heat them up in a microwave and they then stay warm for up to 10 hours. They don’t heat the space but once put under a hide, they provide a warm spot for them to sit
