How Big Should Cage Size Be?

Hi,

I am interested in getting some more piggies but first I need to know if I have enough room.
I have a three story hutch with four pigs in it at the moment. I am definately getting a fifth piggy and i was thinking of a sixth a little while after that.
My lot use the ramps all the time as well as being put outside in a big run whenever there is nice weather if the isn't they will have a run around on the floor for an hour or so. There is also lots of room for them to get away from each other if they are fighting with two hidey house and as many tunnels as needed as I can make them.
I really hope there is anough room as I would love to expand my piggy family.

For 4 pigs you should have a space of 2x6 ft (60x180cm) or 12 ft square - then add 2 square feet (30x60cm) for any piggy after that.

Hi - just joined the forum and looking for advice on cage size. The link above is good but I'm still confused (probably my fault!).
I am looking at two tier outdoor options for three guinea pigs. Do I count the total area of BOTH sections when calculating how much space I have for them,
or just the upstairs bit (as the downstairs half is really just a run). Thanks!
