How best to bend grids?

I dont know if you guys use wooden ramps or what, but I quite liked the idea of those gridramps as seen on cavycages.

Now how do I start?

My boyfriend suggested just putting a grid into our vice, and try bending it by hand. I thought it might come out with a nicer result if I tried and hammered it. However I am afraid of breaking the thing, and wondered if there is anything I should do to get the best result?

Any dos and donts you need to tell me about?

I just bent mine by hand, just do it slowly

I bent some to make a little perch for a cuddle cup to stop it getting soiled. They are suprisingly easy to bend. I stood on mine and then bent it with my hands slowly as has been suggesed.
