I'd say so - 2ft x 6ft is the recommended for 3 sows (pretty sure...) and you should add 2sq ft per extra pig, so you'd need 6sq ft on top of that, which equals 18sq ft for 6 pigs.
8x3 ft is....24sq ft? And with the lofts it will be extra super!

2ft x 6ft is recommended for 2 boars or a mixed sow/ boar group of 3, so 8ft x 3ft isn't huge for 6 guinea pigs.
Whilst the lofts obviously add a huge amount of space, these shouldn't really be taken into account when calculating the overall size of the cage.

There is a good guide here;

Cage Size Guide

I guess it would also depend on your group composition, and what they are living in currently.

Thanks. I have one boar (neutered) & five sows. They all use the ramps except for one of the sows. I've tried putting food up/down them. I've tried only putting food at bottom of the cage & put her up top & vice versa! She watches everyone else going up & down them happily, but just won't join in! I know its not a huge problem. It does mean that she doesn't have as much space as the others though ☹

Some piggies just will not use a ramp no matter how much you try to teach them and no matter how many adaptations you make. I have had to remove a ramp myself when no-one would use it. I tried increasing the sides, increasing the length (reducing the angle), adding different floor coverings and even having a purpose made ramp tunnel to enclose the ramp. Have you tried any of those? It may encourage her to overcome her fear, but no guarantee.

I haven't tried the tunnel idea! I'll definitely try that thanks
