Hi! I've inherited an outside hutch that I find awkward to get access to my two girlies.

I want a hutch on legs.. off the ground and with lots of access for me, but lots of protection too.

I've heard GP's aren't great on ramps but my two already use a ramp to the ground and are fine.

So - any tips - here's the two I'm looking at - one with ramp - one without.....

I do still need help with my decision but I've thrown another Hutch into the mix. The Lazybones 6ft - single storey.... Surely that's ample room for 2 happy G's? And simple enough for a quick and easy clean..... It's my birthday in a couple of weeks so I'm asking for £'s towards a new fab hutch... Tips and advice?

I've stopped using my 2 tier ramp for exactly the same reasons . A 6 ft single storey hutch is a good size for 2 guinea pigs.

I had a double storey hutch with a ramp, my youngest most intrepid guinea pig Abbie was happy to go upstairs but the other two nervous ninnies were not. It took Honey months to get it together enough to run up the ramp. This was after I put fleece and sides on it. Lola was ok with it, but really it meant Abbie sat upstairs on her own unless I put the veg upstairs to encourage the other two to come up!

Also I found it a pain to clean out with the ramp - you can hook it up but mine kept slipping down.

I have a lazybones hutch now, single storey and I do prefer it. I have seen the one in the picture and it isn't bad really. Nice size and seemed sturdy. I think it is better to have a hutch a on legs and not directly on the ground for some reason? Cannot remember why, haven't had my morning tea yet!

Hi I'm posting a pic maxdawn sent me of their ramp, my boys would not use theirs :( So today I'm going to do this to mine so it's easier for them to grip that may be why yours don't like it, if you can try a folded towel on the ramp I did this as a temporary fix and they were straight upstairs ( they have a large two story pets at home hutch) image.webp

Also if it's a brand new hutch pic up some stick on Lino tiles from the pound shop I found that tip on here before I got my new hutch and I can honestly say I'm so glad I did my hutch is so easy to clean out and it will make it last a lot longer too :)

Thanks everyone... Def going for the single storey mammoth hutch... Just realised we may have a prob moving a 6ft-er in the garage over winter.. May have to bring them inside ;0) Ahem ;0)
