Mabel is around 6 and is a sole guinea since the death of her companion several months ago.

she is on fleece in a ferplast cage with a litter tray. The litter tray is just a cat litter tray lined with paper and hay. She did the bulk of her toileting in there. After a small scare when I thought she had stopped peeing we have realised she isn’t going into the litter tray anymore. She has struggled with what is probably arthritis for a while now and I removed the raised level from the cage. So she’s probably not able now to jump in.

she has an igloo and I’ve recently removed the remnant of an edible hideaway that was falling over all the time as he’s eaten it away in one corner.

I’m wondering how what I could put her hay in? She likes to bury herself in it sometimes.
Looking for cage inspiration for an older lady :-) preferavly without spending a fortune and something I can get that’s not sold out everywhere! She doesn’t much like fancy stuff. When her mate died she rejected all toys, cage chew things, teddy’s. She only accepted the new house that she’s now chewed through.

she’s still able to get about fine as I’ve seen her moving round the cage and popcorning. Must just be the jumping that’s too much now.
ThankS in advqnce

For one of our older rabbits we used an under bed storage box, and I cut a small entry hole so he didin't have to jump in.
The hole was big enough for him, but not so huge that all the hay got dragged out.
And the box was big enough that he still got to lay in his large piles of hay.

How about a box? A wine box that bottles come in is the perfect size. They usually have them in a cage or on the floor near the checkouts at the Supermarket. She can chew it too providing double the fun!

Well after all that it turns out she can get in the hay tray no problem. It was a protest at the removal of her edible house. I made a new house out o cardboard box and since it’s gone in she’s gone back into the hay tray! No idea what that’s all about!
But thanks for all the suggestions- I can try them anyway as she is an older girl now! X
