Poppy Davis
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi,
I am currently looking into buying or building a new cage for my two piggies Pippin and Oreo. When I first got them they were originally in a 5x3 c&c cage with a 2x1 loft, however I still had my previous piggies Juno and Twiglet (rip piggies <3 ) It ended up being a real pain to use and clean as I had to cut two pieces of coroplast and did a rubbish job of it! Also, it was on the floor as it was too big to put on a table or anything like that, and they were digging up the fleece and pooping and peeing everywhere as a result so cleaning was quite the task.
I eventually moved them into our old playhouse outside (it was 200x150) and put them on aubiose. This did the job for a while but got very expensive,it took about 2 1/2 hours to clean out, wasn't as clean as using fleece and I didn't get as much interaction with them. They are now back inside as I moved them in during all of the snow we had and decided that I much preferred having them inside.
The main problem I have now is what to keep them in long term. They are currently in a shop-bought cage which isn't providing them with as much space as I feel they should have. I was just wondering what everyone else uses and how its going for them. Any cage recommendations (shop bought or diy) or resolutions to my fleece problem would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance Poppy, Pippin and Oreo
