So i was just wondering. You know people keep house rabbits to free roam any room. Can it be done with guinea pigs? I'm not going to but just curious. I think how small guinea pigs are might be the reason not to

They were very chatty boys so we could always hear when they were about, but we were always super careful

I think with rabbits it's easier because they can be litter trained and once trained properly they will always go back to their "spot" to go toilet. With piggies I can just imagine being half asleep and smushing fresh poops between my toes

Lol. When dot was very young she sat inside my dads coat whilst he had it on..when he got her out there were about 100 poos gathered. Must have been nerves

Mine free range our dining room at weekends. Luckily they only tend poo under cover, so I rarely trad on it and they have never peed outside of their pen, but I think that’s fairly unusual!
There have been several near misses, foot wise. I check my step - no pigs. I move my foot - pig right there! They have been ‘kicked’ a couple of times but because I always tread very cautiously it’s actualy a very gentle glancing side-shove that just annoys them. How dare I get in their way when they’re darting semi-blind across the floor?!

I used to have a house rabbit and apart from the fact he used to eat my curtains, carpet and skirting boards all was good. I couldn't imagine my piggy boys being free range. Dear god l can just see it now! They are confined to a cage in 1 room right now yet the whole of upstairs seems to bare traces of hay and litter. I have even found a poo that somehow managed to get from 1 end of the room onto a plate on the other side of the room that has my tea, coffee and sugar caddys on 
those 2 will definitely never be getting the chance to roam around! I have a shoes off at the the door policy. I can just image it now... Shoes off.... please put on some wellies

My lot are outside piggies and still the hay gets EVERYWHERE. I hoover indoors 2 or 3 times a week and use a garden vac twice a week. I have even found hay upstairs in the bed!
