Hello, just one quick question. Is it safe to put a hot water bottle under the hay etc in the hidey section of a hutch?
Or perhaps under a little bed, or in?
I thought that perhaps there could be a risk of their claws bursting the bottle? x

I did, but under supervision, in a water bottle cover fleece... You can buy something like that from pet shops hot pads or something I tried to find link but can't think of the name!

Do you mean the Snugglesafe heatpads Joanne?

They are the safest option and would opt for them if you can. Lots of pet shop and websites sell them.

I've used hot water bottles before but ones wrapped in a fleece cover and then well hidden under some vet bed.

They are the ones I was thinking, but apparently they are no good thanks Nutmeg for letting us know... I just seen a picture of a piggie on them and presumed, they were ok!

I forgot to say I also put it in obviously luke warm but my little boys aren't outside... It was just well they were bonding in the bathroom I used it, for a wee bot of warmth! :)p

Nutmeg thanks for adding this. Was just coming back to edit my message as realised should have explained that. I've only ever used ordinary hot water bottles really buried under a heavy piece of vet bed as if they get at them they could chew them swallowing the rubber or burning themselves on puncturing the bottle.

I dont have a microwave, am i right in thinking you need one for snuggle safes? x
