Hello,

It's cage cleaning day today and I'm washing piggie's fleece and fleece sacks. What temperature water do you guy's and girl's use? I currently use hot to get rid of any germs etc but not sure if this is good for the fleece.

PS, hear it's getting pretty cold over in the UK. Hope you and the piggies are all staying warm. Its super hot over here in Australia and not even summer yet.

Beds and sacks I tend to wash at a lower temperature 30degrees in case it ruins the stuffing.

The fleece and Vetbed go on a 60 usually but have a 90 wash every now and then. They usually come out fine and fleece is cheap enough to replace if it shrinks over time.

I use a 40 degree wash most of the time, but then do the occasional 60 degree wash (maybe once a month).
But a cooler wash will also work if you are line drying in the heat, which I obviously won't be doing for at least 5 months!

I wash fleece and towels (absorbent layer) at 60 degrees. The fleece appeared to shrink slightly (prob no more than 1cm all round) but was ok as I had cut it slightly too big. Other than that, it was not damaged in any way. Cosy nest I usually handwash warm, but not hot.

I wash all cage wares at 60 unless they have plastic spines - if they do I wash at 50.
