I'M SO EXCITED! Tomorrow i am going horse riding and can't wait, i've been lead round on a horse before but i really wanted to know how to ride a horse properly!

I'm also joining tennis club with my brand new wilson tennis racket, that i'm a bit nervous of because i'm quite (a lot) bad lol

Any advice from the horseriders on here?

where can i buy horse riding stuff (for if i ♥ it!)
 
BIRCHELLS is the best but hey EBAY is also good if your starting out got good stuff on there, i used to do allot of horse riding and used to be a groom, but fell off an broke my wrist and damaged my back playing gymkhana games, but i would recommend the sport to anyone it is an experience!

I've been horseriding twice and hated it because I was scared of falling off..but hey ::) Didn't help that it was my aunties horse and well, I dunno, she just wasn't very helpful.
 
I'm really excited, as said before i been led round on a horse and i loved it so much, i just want to learn how to ride properly, hopefully i dont break my arm, i wanna play tennis lol

i wanna find something i am really good at, i've started rowing as well ? not like me but it will be fun as one of my best m8s is doing it as well which should be funny! ::)

I'm new to this forum just wanted to say "have a good horse ride" you'll enjoy it. I worked at a horse racing yard for 9 years never actually raced on the track but did everything else theres nothing more exciting that galloping across a field at 40 mph in control. In 9 years I only had 2 really bad falls but never broke anything! You will enjoy it trust me! might be a bit stiff the next day though :)
 
Awww have fun! I'm saving to go horse riding :)

The only tip I have is... just go with it... I basicly taught myself to ride, trotting is deinatley the hardest for me.. I just bounce around ;D but cantering is the best! As long a you know how to steer, stop, go and stay in the saddle you should be fine ;D

Ive fallen quite a few times! But havent broken anything... just messed up my back a bit ;D Whenever I dont go horse riding for a while, then go again the next day... my thighs are really sore ;D

Ooh another great tip...
With your feet in the stirups... have the ball of your foot sitting on the stirrup and push your heels down... that way if you fall you wont get caught... and its much easier to ride like that :)

I used to love horse riding,I reckon I should take it up again
last time I went was in Woolacombe and it was brilliant,I remember once we went when we were in Majorca and the horses werent too right in the head,something spooked them on the next track and mine took off with me on it and no way would it stop,it was a huge one too and the girl that went with us got thrown off onto rocks,she split her head open and ended up in hosp with a blood clot on her spine,because she was a holiday rep she wasnt insured for that out of work so it cost £18000 in the hosp fees in Palma :-\

ever since that Ive been a lil bit scared to do it again,Sars has never really ridden horses but I'm trying to get her into it,its not as scary as it looks and great fun if you have a good trustworthy horsey :tickedoff:

hmmm I think I feel some horsey riding coming on again

But i can't wait (seeing as i won't be doing anything more than a trot today!)

My friend dropped round her first ever pair of riding boots (which are long) and i cant wait, I'm feeling so excited now!

LOL Puggies Rule... i too have been horse riding but i did bare back riding and got off looking just like John Wayne but oh the bruising OUCH it hurt for a week or more :o :o :o :o
 
i was fine, I'm in one piece and i think i did quite well (i didnt fall off) We rode on dartmoor (very rocky and lots of scared sheep around!)

It was lovely, there was someone on another horse holding my horse and i had to steer my horse, Sam away from the other horse as i was banging into the other one lol

It's embarrising when they stop for a wee though, you have to stand up!

lol i loved it so much, i'm going back next week!

The last time I fell off I was trotting back to the ranch and couldnt control the horse... we were trotting near some rocks and the horse got spooked and galloped off! lol I fell onto the rocks and thought I broke my back and my friend had her feet stuck in the stirrups so she wouldnt help me! lol I was fine and scored a few days off school ;D
 
well i had someone leading me so i was fine, can't wait till next saturday when i get to go again!

Come on wheek, come on i want to go riding! i ♥ ♥ ♥ horse riding and one of the horses came up to me and tried to find food in my pockets, it was so cuteeeee!

Sam was sweet and didnt get annoyed at the fact i didnt know what i was meant to be doing!

Have you felt a horses chin before? It is SOOO soft! lol

i will probably, i will probably fall off as well ::) i felt a little weird cos everyone knew each other and i was stood there like an idiot!

I likeit when they trot (fast) and you have to stand up and sit down although half way through i got exhausted so just go bounced around by the horse lol
 
right where can i get horse riding hats, shoes etc
