For a few days our gorgeous husboar Theo has been very full of excessive hormonal joy and exuberance and excitement, but today he seems to have just crashed, almost like a lady pig hitting the end of a strong season when they seem to have a hormone hangover and skulk about napping a lot and looking a bit dull trying not to draw attention to themselves... do boars do this sometimes?
We only have 2 husboars and neither of them are usually very hormonal at all, they are both rather lazy undersexed overfed perfect gentlemen unless their ladies make very specific demands when they might stop napping and snacking for 10 minutes to keep the ladies happy...
Theo woke up for his dinner obviously and ate a lot as usual, he's never lost his appetite or missed a meal in his life not even after his neutering op, he's just... a bit tired? Not making a nuisance of himself and dancing in the middle of the haypile today while the ladies are eating as usual?
We've so many ladies I'm a bit clueless with boys!

My only experience with boars is the early neutered type (before sexual maturity).
In all honesty they aren't big humpers, and boar glue isn't an issue, but they definitely have moments of 'exuberance' ?
Harry often drives poor Lucy mad with his vague rumble strutting and equally vague attempts to mount her.
He sort of knows what is going on, but isn't really that sure, and spends much time dancing and rumbling and generally being a bit thrilled with himself.
I actually think he has the best of both worlds and Theo sounds like he is also living the life.

Ralph is looking a bit tired this last couple of weeks .... can’t think why?! A couple of times I’ve walked in and found him looking sparko and got no reaction so he must have been sleeping deeply.
It could just be that Theo’s had a bit of Spring fever and is paying the price for it? I’d just weigh him and keep an eye on him to check it’s nothing more serious.

My boars get the hormone spikes and dominance hump more than normal from time to time, this gets less often as they get older but even the mellow old boys get them occasionally. It does seem to tire them out for a day or two and they have longer deeper naps. Just as I start to think they need a vet visit because they are quiet and acting out of character they perk up again. I too would keep an eye on his weight for a day or two just in case.

Like above said, just keep an eye on him, good that he's eaten well, I had Bernie neutered very young, he never humps, just rumble struts, he does spend alot of time crashed out compared with Dot, she's more active

Yes, sudden massive hormone spikes can happen to especially younger adult adult boars, including neutered boars; thankfully it is not all that common!
Bonded adult boar pairs go usually back together after a short-term separation and re-intro on neutral ground once the spike has settled down again.

However, if he is not picking up again by tomorrow, you may want to have him vet checked in case there is a health issue.
It is normal that piggies are totally exhausted after a hormone orgy which has taken it out of them.
