Specialist Hormone related illness

I have a four and half year old female guinea pig who has what the vet and I agree is a hormonal issue. She has hair loss on both flanks and marked weight loss, her kidneys are enlarged and her skin is changing colour but she is well, eating like a horse and bright as always. Whilst I wait for an appointment with a gig specialist I was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar with one of their gigs? The vet cannot feel obvious ovaries so is putting cystic ovaries down the list of possibles. TIA

@Abi_nurse @furryfriends (TEAS) have you got any experience with these symptoms? They are not quite typical for ovarian cysts.
