I am trying to make a vet appointment for my Commodore's ear. It looks crusty and white but no scaps or sore spots and he doesn't seem to itch it and he is eating and playing normally. First off is there a home remedy I can use in the meantime while I am waiting for my vet appointment a few days away? I have read that monistat, lotrimin, or canesten is a good anti fungal that some people use for this and it clears it up on their piggies. Any suggestions?

Hi! If you home treat, you will prevent your vet from being able to make a proper diagnosis.

This is just a suggestion, but to help it stop itching a little oil works. This won't treat whatever the problem is, but it might keep Commodore comfier until you can get to the vet. You will need to make sure there is no oil on the ear on the day when you take him to the vet though, the oil covers up the problem as it were!

I hope it works out for you!

i wouldn't put anything on it before seeing the vet either, especially if he is not scratching it and is behaving normally :)
