My wee fudge seems too love his exercise time out of his cage. Tonight he even climbed out before i let him. He loves running about and popcorns but when it comes to getting him back to his cage he runs and hides under a chair making it so hard to catch him. Why would this be?

Thanks

He may just be enjoying himself, try telling any child that they have to leave the climbing frame and ball pit to go and do the shopping :laluot_21:

They are prey animals, if you dart toward them to catch them they run away especially when its big tall hoomans leaning down to gram them :-)

Mine are nearly 2 year old , come upto me in their cage, love tickles ... but if I try to grab them from above they run off :-)

If he is an only piggy then why would he like to go back in his cage? He's getting all the fun with you when he is out! Most piggies don't like being picked up anyway; it cuts too close to their prey animal instincts.

It would be great if you considered getting him a little friend eventually. Guinea pigs are group animals and the lively interaction between them is what makes them so unique.
