Hello,

As mentioned in one of my other posts, we took Arnie home last weekend and he is happy in his cage.

We went to P@H and bought him a wooden house as this is what I had for my other guinea pig. My concern is that Arnie hides in there all the time. I took the house out of the cage for a few days and he appeared to be a bit more social, but now I have put the house back in and I haven't seen him out since this morning.

Any ideas on why he stays in there? Should I take it out altogether?

Thanks.

He feels safe in there. You could encourage him to come out a bit more by placing a towel over his cage and the cage back, so he feels generally less exposed.

In my opinion, just leave it in there, all piggies are different. I have 10. In one cage we have Storm and Snow, Storm will come out even when we're in the room but Snow will hide. Same as the two little ones we have, where as Jericho and Big's don't care. Same as the girls in the living room and Cesaro.

See if what Wiebke suggested helps :D
