Hideaway material

Hi all,

We’ve just relocated our two pigs and my daughter wanted them to have a two storey hideaway.

I’ve built it today as a surprise for her, it’s built out of Melamine and Chipboard, as soon as they went in they have had a nibble at the chipboard, is this safe or does it need rethinking?

I’m sorry your post seems to have been missed. I don’t personally know if chipboard is safe. I’ll have a search for you.

EDIT - I couldn’t see if it’s ok or not. @Piggies&buns do you know if chipboard is ok?

The question is what the glue is made of that holds the chips together and whether that is safe.

You can try painting lemon juice on it to discourage nibbling.

Sorry only just seen this.
I don’t think I would use chipboard due to the glue. I think it also absorbs any liquid so probably would be ruined by urine pretty quickly
