Just out of intrest, how many of us actually keep our guinea pigs outside? If so how often do they get exercise in a run. If you keep them indoors do they live in a c&c cage? :) :)

Mine live outside in a big double hutch, but they go into the shed with lots of blankets and bubblewrap over the hutch in the winter :) xx

Oh, and they go out in the run whenever its warm and dry :)

My 15 piggies all live in our lounge in home built set ups consisting of two levels each.
Hated the pens we first bought then switched to C&C for a while but decided to build something on the walls to house them :)) The pens are open so the piggies really are part of the family as they get so much attention :(|)

All the rescue pigs live indoors all winter. During the summer they live in a very large brick shed and go out in the garden runs on nice days.

The 2 boys live outside, well in a garden room, and get floor time everyday! They have plenty of hay and blankets over the hutch. They then go in the garden in the summer(: As they love the fresh air. And the 2 girls live indoors.

My two pairs live in 5x2 hutches (a two tier split into two) and my 16 strong herd live in a shed which is now heated and part insulated. :)

My herd don't need runs for exercise now as they live in quite a large area (about 50 square feet) but they do get out when the weather is nice. I feel sad that it's going to be a good 5 months at least now till they can get outside!

My three live in a 5x2 C&C and they get exercise in the hallway! We have wooden floors, i just close all the doors and put some fleece down and away they go!

All mine live outside, but have all come in from time to time for various reasons

my 4 girls live in a hutch and run combo and it is on paving slabs so they are out everyday

and my 2 boys live in my bunny shed (not with the buns) i have built a shelf in which is half the length and they go out in the run on dry days

but i have split my shed in 2 so my pigs can go inside the shed over the winter months to keep them warm

My pigs all live in the lounge - Bumble is in a 2 tier essigi baffy 120 rabbit cage while he awaits a wifepig from Tracy at Rugby, and Truffles and Noodles are in a converted 6ft by 3 ft solid pine bookcase (shelves removed and lying flat on the floor obviously - lined with correx and vet bed ) all open plan - so yes ,we think of them as part of the family:))

My tribe live indoors in a custom built under stairs cage :))
And lugi has a cage to himself. They go out in a run when its dry. I used to keep them outdoors but brought them in after a neighbour had her rabbit cruely murdered :)>>>

My six live outdoors together in a triple hutch. It's well insulated as it won't fit in the shed (they were in the shed for a short while last year until it got too cold, but the new hutch it too big). If it gets as bitterly cold as it did last year, they may have to move to my mum's for a little while :(

When we move, they'll be spending the Winter inside, probably in a multi tier C&C and will go back out in Spring.

Mine live inside in a ferplast cage. In the sitting room to be precise :p I have a hutch outside that my dad built when I had lots of piggles which needs a bit of tlc then they can go outside in the summer months.

our 2 girls live in a pair of 7ft hutches joined together with a tube, they have constant access to nearly 28 sq ft. one hutch has their enclosed bed area, then the food/water area, then a tube through to the run-hutch which has toys tubes and veggies hidden in there. had to have a run of some sort as we had to lift the hutch off the floor due to my health issues, so to have another hutch with a full open wire front seemed a happy result for the girls. it also means, they have tons of popcorning room no matter what the weather outside :)) we cant bring them inside as we simply dont have any space for a cage large enough.

Cookie & Treacle live in the front room in a cage - when we move, I'm hoping to build them a C&C, they get plenty of run time.

Putt lives in a cage in our living room, she gets plenty of run time also but prefer's to call it 'sit' time, she doesn't really hold with the idea of exercise! Lying down eating hay is Putt's prefered way of spending run time....

Charlie has a two tier 4ft/2ft indoor cage. (It used to house two before Harry died :()

When I get my two Guinea Pigs (hopefully this Saturday) they will be in a 5x2 C&C cage in my bedroom:)

One Sow (Lacey) and a Boar (Mr Darcy) both in 4x2 C&C in my living room with their own heater and fleeces for extra snuggles, very spoilt indeed, they have floor time every night when I get home from work and all weekend day and night (until I go to bed) although they just seem to pick a spot and stay there! :))

Thanks guys. Angel, rose and Jenny live outside and in a 4ft long by 1.5ft wide hutch. Then in the mornings before I go to school I put them out on the run and they spend the day in that, ( which by the way is 7ft long and 2ft wide and has a small hutch and pigaloos for shelter. It also has toys in it!) after school, about 5 o'clock pm, I put them back in the hutch and cover it with one of those hutch covers you can buy at pets at home.:)

I haven't been allowed to bring them inside before but I have read all your comments about having your pigs in for floor time and think I will ask my mum if I can bring them inside occasionally but I wouldn't let them free range my room as it's not piggy proof ( lots of wires) so I will get those exercise pens. :)

My five live outside in a huge waterproof/weatherproof double story cage that my dad built. I pick grass to give them as we have not yet made the grass run but that is to be done within the wheek.

my 2 live in a 2 storey cage in the living room in winter and on wet cold days, i would love a C&C cage but i have a terrier who is obsessed with them and i feel abit safer having a cgae even though she's never allowed near them unsupervised. and in the summer they have a humongous hutch with a run on the bottom for munchin grass :) x
