Just put perry and bullit together on the sofa as they always lay next to each others cage when they are out. perry lost his buddy paul about 4 months ago. Before when we put them together there was a bit of chattering and mounting and it got a little heated so hubby whimped out and seperated them. anyway i just had them both on my lap and they sniffed and then didn't move, bullit immediately lay down and did a few little low noises which he normally makes when he is snuggling with me, perry eventually jumped off my lap and went home bullit followed him and we closed the cage before he got in with perry and now he is chewing the bars to get in. just put him away and perry is now looking for him i think. perry isn't very active and hides a lot but is now sitting where bullit was and chewed the bars and squeeked for the first time ever. is this a good thing do we think? can't really pair them up til the weekend as we are not here tomorrow and have just used our new big cage for our single boar who is really active so would feel mean taking it away now. they are around 2 half and 3 and half/ 4 not too sure as both rescues. any suggestions?

From what I have read, about older male pigs is they tell you immediately if they like one another, and the fact you didn't have balls of fury says alot.

i suppose it has been 2-3 months when we last put them together and perry was spooked and bullit was still having hormones i think at that time but now maybe they have chilled out? would be nice to have 2 less single boars x:))

I had two boars, Spike (2) and Stripes (2 1/2) living next door to each other. We tried introducing them and all seemed ok for the first 24 hours then they had a fight so we seperated them again. One day me and my OH said on the sofa with one each and Stripes scrambled off my lap to snuggle up to Spike. They told us they wanted to be together! We reintroduced them after a bath following all the great advice in the thread on here about introducing boars and they're now living happily together. They have their snappy moments, usually about food but they've even been seen to share a bed on a couple of occasions and recently they've got much closer. It can work, just sometimes takes a little more time and lots of fingers crossed! Good luck with it.

WOw this gives me faith that my 2 will be mates again one day :) xx

Well it's taken me time to get round to it but I think I've bonded them

Well after deliberating Perry and little man spent 6 hrs in the run together and have been in their new cage now for 3 hours with only a little rumble. Fingers crossed I think they are happy together.:(|):<>:<>:<>
They have been like this for an hour or so and were grooming each others faces before.

It looks very promising! Fingers crossed for your boys!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you, but the fact they haven't had a fight and they aren't young pigs... is a very good thing! I do so hope they stay Friends!

Ps. Your boys are gorgeous x)

Thanks I love them all so much ")well there was the weeniest bit of rumble but they are getting on better than the twins who are a bonded pair!rolleyes
