I've got a four year old sow and I've got her out for some cuddle time just now and her stomach has been rumbling :{ Is this anything to be worried about? She seems okay in herself but I think she might've got nervous because I bought her a new cage today and she doesn't seem to be settling in very well. Do your guinea pigs do this? Is it normal?

I've googled it and can't find anything of importance so not sure if this is a cause for concern. Is she eating and pooping ok?

Yeah, she's had a bit of carrot and some cucumber this morning and she's had some of her dry mix so I can't see anything wrong with her. The only thing I have noticed is that she's been chattering at me just now which she's never done before :{

Bless her, oh my sows all chatter at me for some reason! I hope someone can advise. I was thinking bloat but her tummy would feel hollow and she would be bloated. Perhaps she is a little peckish now? :)

I think you're probably right :) It's about time for her tea so i'll go and do that now. Thankyou very much for the help :)

Ah no worries, let us know how she is. I'm sure she'll be fine. :)

Sometimes you can hear piggies tummies rumbling when they have just eaten. Piggies make all sorts of noises. Its probably nothing to worry about if she is eating and drinking normally, and behaving in her usual way.

They can also get gas! Things like lettuce and other leafy greens will cause this. I've never heard of a rumbling tum in a piggy being a cause for concern.

Thankyou to everyone who replied, you've all been really helpful :) Piggy seems to be doing okay now and is eating, drinking, pooping fine so i'm not too worried :) She's probably ready for another vets appointment soon anyway so i'll just have the vet check her over then anyway :) Thankyou very much xox

That's great news! I have a sow called Fleur if she has cabbage or too many greens she gets a little bloated so I have to watch her. Little tubby miss she is!

Glad your pig is ok. x

Regarding the teeth chattering, my boys sometimes do this when they are hungry and they know food is coming - it's like "come ON, I know you have my FOOD, where IS it"... etc etc! It's not a noisy clatter like anger and it's usually done whilst looking at me with great interest, just willing me to put the food bowls down asap!
