My beautiful girl Talullah passed away yesterday during surgery.
She left behind her sister Trixie. I let Trixie see her and left them together for a few hours.

Trixie is so so down. I was thinking of moving her over to my other shed home to my two four month old sows. Trixie is currently in my other shed in her built in hutch with four rabbits below her.
I would like to bond her with the little two at a later date but right now I'm wondering if the sound of the other two girls chatting may help her x

Pop-corn free, Talullah:bye:
Very sorry to hear of your loss.
I am sure that Trixie will feel better knowing that there are some other piggies nearby.

Sorry for your loss :( RIP Talullah

I can't see any harm in trying Foxy. We've recently lost two guinea's, the first was in a four, they SEEMED ok but they do argue a lot now and one from a bonded boar pair, who I was quite attached to, we left it for about two weeks, he did have the sows below him, then my local rescue contacted us and told us they were getting a single boar, just over a week later Big's and now Jericho met and tada.. Big's has a mate he can natter to again :) They do like to hear and see other piggies :)

Thank you. I'll try anything to cheer her up a little. She's so quiet and just sitting in her hay bed. She has eaten and drinking.
Hubby is going to help me change the shed around a little when he gets home so she can move over there.

Yes, please move her ideally next to the younger girls for company and stimulation; that will hopefully keep her from pining. I have just done the same for my Iola after her husboar Terfel passed away yesterday.

Sorry to read of both losses here. They leave such a big hole when they go. I hope you get things sorted soon. Sending hugs. Xx

So sorry that you lost Talulah. I think moving Trixie to be near the others would be the kindest thing to do, while you plan your next steps. It's so hard when you lose one - I lost one last week and am still gutted.

So sorry Popcorn free Terfel.

I moved Trixie over last night. We couldn't work out how to get another enclosure in so cut the two little girls enclosure in half ( they have a L shaped enclosure with 5ft one way and 7ft the other). Now they both have 5ft each temporarily.
She is alot brighter this morning and barrelled into her veggie breakfast.

I am currently doing the same with Terfel's widow Iola; I have rearranged my pens and created a small bonding pen for Terfel's widow Iola (who is getting roaming time twice a day), so she can get used to Maelog and his girls, who I want to try to bond her to starting tomorrow. Iola has never lived with other sows, apart from Terfel's Mali (who predeceased him by 3 weeks), so I have to take it slowly and gently with her. She is much happier with next door company than she would be alone on the large table cage.

I'm so sorry to you both for your losses x I know how you feeling I lost my piggy on Tuesday but unfortunately I don't have any other pigs for his friend to live next too xx

She's so much brighter today. I moved a piece of the barrier so it's just a c & c grid between them. Wish I could upload the video. The girls were very interested in Trixie and chatting away to her.
Is it too early to try bonding them tomorrow?

First time I've bonded piggies. Have done loads of rabbits though.
Will have a good read of the guides before I start x

Their now bonded. Trixie is definitely the boss but the two little girls adore her.
Now all in their home together x

Thanks for the update! That is great news, and you must be so pleased!

She's coming back to her old self. This evening was very loud at veggie time :D .
Lovely to have a happy piggie again after seeing her so depressed x
