Hey everyone! Lately at night I been noticing that my GP, Oreo, is acting really odd. He will climb his cage, yes actually climb but just a little bit and just bites the cage until he falls. He gets to run alot throughout the day and have his free space. He does have a companion, which hopefully he doesn't influence.

Any advice? Please help.

Is their anyway you can put anything in his way so he can't climb? I had problems with my pigs chewing the side of the cage and i bought some of these

I then just cable tied them through the matt to the side of the cage. Might help you if there is one particularly place he tends to climb :)

Can you explain to me why he is getting more scared at night?

Just re read and see his not on his own....lol silly me
How big is Oreos cage? Does he have things to do in it like tunnels, places to hide, things to chew? Lack of these things could be why he's acting this way.
Does he have lap time and run time during the day?
We can advice and support you Hun you have done the right thing in asking for our advice/help hopefully we figure out what is making Oreo act this way
Kell x

Oreo cage is fairly large. Yes, he has toys and many things to chew on and tunnels. He always has lap time and run time, day and some time at night.

That does sound very odd... What do you clean the cage with?

Sorry for replying late, but I use a cloth and a safe animal disinfect spray.

It is rather ususual behaviour. Could you switch your disinfectant to see whether there is something in it that he likes?

Or are you storing hay, pellets or treats just next to where he is climbing? I know that some of mine are going to great lenghts (including jumping) if they see a chance to get at something edible!

Earlier I cleaned his cage, with just water. Their food is well hidden. But tonight, I made him a little pillow which calmed him down? Well just a little bit..

The only things I can think of is he doesn't like the cage eg the fact is closed in may he if poss try a c&c set up which is open. Or you need to try and peg fleece all the way around the cage just to a hight so he carnt start his climbing but this may stress him about if he does not like the cage he's in.
