i just want know what you’d all change about this set up. the cover that’s down is absorbent and there’s some puppy pads underneath it. obviously i need to buy bits like bowls, hay rack, toys etc but i want to know what it’s like just as a space for now. also i’ll buy a guard cover for the plug socket so there’s no need to worry about that :)

Please make sure that the wooden board is secure, if it were to fall over they could escape or worse be seriously injured. Have a look at the C&C cage wires, they are secure and very reasonably priced, a 4 x 2 panels could cost as little as £30 and can be designed to fit your space x

there’s going to be a screw in the part touching the door corner and the other will be fastened to the wall. apart from that, would it be suitable? just as a starter even. i’ve looked into c&c’s but i don’t really know what i’m looking for if i’m honest. i’ll definitely look into it more though :) x

Yes I’m sure there’s plenty of room, just make sure it’s secure from small children and other pets if it’s open topped. Be prepared for piggies to chew your skirting boards and anything else and use a plastic shower curtain to use as a base under your fleece bedding.
Here is a link to C&C cages they are super and you can design them yourself to fit your space
Langxun Metal Wire Storage Cubes Organizer, DIY Small Animal Cage for Rabbit, Guinea Pigs, Puppy | Pet Products Portable Metal Wire Yard Fence (Black, 16 Panels): Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home
here is a cheap example of these C&C cage types, you slot each grid together to make any shape you want

FYI . When looking at the link for above Langxun Wire Storage Cubes - although some reviewers thought it good for guinea pigs there were at least two others who said their guinea pigs heads had got trapped as the spaces on the grids were two wide. One piggie was 9 months so not a baby.
