Hi everyone :)

Looking to build a new c&c cage so i wondered if anyone could help with this..... I am planning to build a 3 level cage which will be 6 x 2 on each level, if you can maybe imagine bunk bed sort of design with a third level on top. So as well as correx being the floor for these levels the frame will be too, to support the weight. The building and design of this wont be a problem, the problem is finding correx thick enough to support this, which is also cheap.

Any posts on here i have looked at it seems most people are using 2mm thick. Think i will need 10mm. I can get this for around £50 a sheet, so after buying the cages the cost will be around £200. I know this isn't too bad for the finished product but i was hoping to do it for less than that.

So, anyone know where to get 10mm thick correx as cheaply as possible?

Thanks :)

Nicola what about clueing or attaching the correx together to make it thicker, I know someone that has did this and it works well.

When I redo my Correx next time I think I am also going to do this!

Thank you :)

I had been considering this but i think i would need an awful lot of correx to do that (5 sheets per floor plus frame), so i don't think it would work out any cheaper.

Hello!

Lisajazz has a three storey C&C cage, she might be able to offer advice on supporting it. I always wondered how they stayed up @)

Thanks :)

I have a two storey one at the moment, so this new one will be the same with another level. The one i have at moment is a whole correx frame on legs (correx). If you could maybe imagine a single bed, then another one on top with the legs of the top one screwed into the frame of the bottom one. That probably doesn't make alot of sense. :red:)) This is what i'm trying to achieve with the new one (with a third level) hence needing so much correx which is very strong.

i'd love to see photos of your current cage Nicola.

Never explained that very well :) There is a hole cut out, they go underneath the box, and then jump up
