Hi

As you may know I am looking at getting two guinea pigs from a rescue centre hopefully for just after when we move, I am trying to get all the bits I will need prior so I can be ready for a check.

Yesterday we got a very large double hutch and today my husband has just got an outdoor run, well thinking about them coming indoors at times and when I stay with family I thought it might be worthwhile getting an indoor cage as well.

I've seen one on Ebay that was only used once, I've asked the person for a buy it now price and they have come back asking how much I want to pay and I have no idea! I've seen some other further afield that are also pick up only and they just don't seem to be selling even with a starting price of 99p.

What price should I state? Also can you please check it will be big enough for two gp's, I've looked at some of the indoor ones you have and the dimensions seem to be right.

H=18 inch / 45cm

W= 46 inch/ 117 cm

D= 25 inch/ 64 cm

Can any of you help me please. Thank you.

The dimensions are about what they are for my indoors cage. I got mine new from zooplus for about £50. Hope that helps!

hello there, i am getting my first guinea pigs today, so I'm in the same boat as you, and have been shopping around and looking at everything going!haha.An indoor plastic cage that i have been looking at is roughly fourty-five pound wherever you look, id say offer about twenty pound, they cant expect full price, its second hand, thats what id offer anyway. if they dont want to sell, youll always find things in your local paper, and I'm sure theres a section on this site aswell!(the ones in the shop usually come with little starter kits aswell- so honestly offer no more than twenty) gemmax

Hey Gembob when are you getting yours and what cage you getting? You decided?

I bought a second hand one out of our local paper and gave £20 for it, I think that's a price to start at. You've still got to go collect it and figure in your fuel prices.

Good luck

Hi - I missed out on that one but I did say what was she roughly looking at as I wasn't really sure, anyway she said she wanted £45, which was too high for me when new wasn't much more and I would have got that delivered. So am looking at 4ftx2ft Nero 4 at the mo and will see what happens!
:)

Oh well I think £45 was too much too really, you may as well go buy a new one for a couple of quid more and not have the hassle of cleaning it before you get new pigs. I soaked mine, although it was sold as only used once, it was in a bit of a state, but got some very handy hints for using white vinegar to get the white bits off, and it looks as good as new.

Keep looking out on e-bay and preloved etc, local papers are good too.
