Hi guys. I'm just building my cage but I need to build it on legs because my dogs can jump over the grids and I don't fancy messing with a lid every time I spot clean. I'm wondering if anyone has built thiers on legs? How did you do it? Do you have photos of your build? I'm not having a second floor for the time being as my boys didn't use the one in the other cage so I'm doing it 6x2 grids. Do I use grids for the base too for the correx to sit on? It just don't seem very sturdy? I'm using tie wraps too as we'll as the connectors. Just thinking its going to really wobble if the dogs jump up to have a nosey.

Good! I have used a cheap Ikea table that fits exactly a 2x4 cable-tied grid cage

Alternatively, you can just buy a set of four legs for about £10 and screw them to a plywood base for any larger cages. Any decent DIY or builder's will cut the plywood to size for you.

I bought Ikea 'Lack' tables for £5 just for the legs & made a frame & then cable tied the grids to it & slotted the correx in with a few grids as support underneath (with a lot of help from my son!). It's great being off the floor, easier to clean, draught free for the piggies & loads of storage underneath. :)

This is one fabulous set up. I'm venturing into c&c cages mines going to be a corner shape 4 long 4 deep and 2 wide. Like a square with the corner cut out! I'm doing a loft too but not sure of size of that yet. Mine has to be on a table and I'm having a sheet of mdf cut and just sitting it on 2 Ikea Lack coffee tables which I had in the garage. This is to keep it out of draughts and make it easier for me to clean while sitting down. I can't bend or kneel to clean out a floor cage.

Do you know the name of the table at all :-) ?

Wiebke said she bought the Lack tables for the legs,

I have used them first to kept the 120 on and then the 140 and one of my attempts and c and c!

Link here hopefully.

I used the £20 coffee table I think ?

Also they have legs for sale and different table tops - the longest with 5 legs at 200cm if I remember rightly - they also do corner table tops which might be useful. Or you could use kitchen worktops, for 20 -30 quid I think?

the only thing is delivery can be expensive. I have just ordered new bedroom furniture and delivery cost me 30 quid.
