Last night I found this strange patch on my guinea pigs nose.
I can’t seem to get a good picture of it but it’s a small hard patch that just seems like matted fur but why is it there?

Do the pig live with another boar? Could be boar glue, which is male guinea pig semen

It’s hard to see in the photo. If you face him towards light (window) then take a photo. Dark piggies are hard to photograph! 😤

Yes its not very clear from the photo but it could still be boar glue from him cleaning his own boar bits! Or possibly a fungal nose stripe, some piggies get a fairly harmless minor fungal infection on their nose that looks a bit like that. If it gets worse or doesnt disappear you could get a vet to check it out.
But you should really find him a friend, piggies are social animals and shouldnt live alone! X

:agr:
It’s not unusual for them to get boar glue on themselves but it would definitely be a good idea to have a vet check him over

It is also important that he has a friend to live with. They are highly social creatures and should not be kept on their own

My piggies have fungal nose stripe and not caused them any problem. There are photos of piggies with it on the black piggies thread in the photos section of the site if you want to compare your piggy with the pics.
