uh i have two guinea pigs
One of my guinea pig(Rocky) has a red-ish lump on his back, I've noticed it a while ago but it seems to be getting bigger, what do I do?
(I can't afford bringing them to the vet because my parents said I have to pay for it myself and so they have never been to the vet except for once when the other guinea pig had clear signs of URI and couldn't breathe well, but we had a very bad experience since the vets mostly knew cats and dogs I think, their immediate reaction was "so did you bring him here for euthanasia?" and after we asked more they didn't really know the issue and just gave some anti-biotics, the guinea pig is better now but still kinda has a permanent cold)

I’m afraid your piggy does need to be seen by a vet. A lump which is growing always needs to be checked - it can be anything from a harmless fatty lump, a cyst or an abscess which will require painkillers and antibiotics.

Your parents are required by law to seek veterinary help for a sick pet if you are in the UK.
No parent should allow a minor to take on a pet unless they are well aware they will be responsible for it under law.
It will be a lot cheaper to have him seen now than when the lump gets a lot worse and will be a lot more expensive to treat.
Perhaps show your parents this thread?
Best of luck, it must be horrible for you.
Can you borrow money from friends, or another family member?
Maybe do some chores in exchange for money?

Hi - if you're in the UK and on certain Benefits you could be eligible for PDSA treatment. Check if you're eligible
You don't have to actually fill in their form but it shows the list of benefits that might make you eligible.

If you're in a different country sorry if this is not relevant. Good luck x
