Okay so I have 2 female Guinea pigs one of Who is pregnant my pregnant got a nose bleed and the other one who is not pregnant is making a outing noise and they are both running around the cadge should I separate for the pregnant piggies safety?
Hi mistake from pets at home and ye both 100%girls and they are squeezing for one another when separated and looking for one another and we are not sure how the bleeding has occurred it is only one nostril but they were popcorning before thisHi
How have you ended up with a pregnant girl? Are you sure they are both female?
If they are there is no reason to seperate them as long as they are not drawing blood (chasing and mounting are normal dominance behaviours).
How has your pregnant girl ended up with a nose bleed? I would recommend having her seen by a vet. If the other piggy has caused this, they unfortunately will need to be separated.
Wishing you all the best, more experienced members will be along shortly.
I'm glad they're both girls, unfortunately pet shop pregnancies are too common.Hi mistake from pets at home and ye both 100%girls and they are squeezing for one another when separated and looking for one another and we are not sure how the bleeding has occurred it is only one nostril but they were popcorning before this
There was blood on the inside of the nostrilI'm glad they're both girls, unfortunately pet shop pregnancies are too common.
So you have seperated them already? Can you see whether the bleeding is coming from inside the nostril or whether it is a cut or abrasion on the outside?
Now the pregnant one has just bit the other so should I just separate themThere was blood on the inside of the nostril
Was it just a dominance nip or a bite that drew blood? If they drew blood then yes, they should be separated. Now the pregnant one has just bit the other so should I just separate them

It was a nip in the wiskerWas it just a dominance nip or a bite that drew blood? If they drew blood then yes, they should be separated.
The non pregnant one is now wiggling her bum and making a purring noiseIt was a nip in the wisker
If it was just a nip and no blood was drawn, this is just normal dominance behaviour and is nothing to worry about. Rumble strutting (what you're describing above) is also perfectly normal dominance behaviour. The non pregnant one is now wiggling her bum and making a purring noise
What do you mean by her head? Is she now bleeding from her head and nose?It turns out its her head has blood on it
