So about two months ago, someone gave me a guinea pig because he was being mistreated where he lived and after a few days of having him, I noticed his right eye was swollen and sunken so I took him to the vet and he gave me eye drops and told me to use them for a week but it never got better and now, my guinea pig has a black lump on that same eye just in the corner and his eye has a white mucus like thing in it and I'm scared. Has someone had this problem with their guinea pig before or know what might be? Thank you for your comments!

Please have him seen again by a good vet; if a treatment doesn't work, please always come back to the vet promptly!

I would go back to vet straight away because if left your piggy may loose his sight. It's a very kind thing you did taking him in. What vet did you see that gave you the eye drops? I would try a more cavy savy vet who will help a lot more

I think he does not see anymore with that eye and it makes me so sad, I took him to a normal kinda vet the ones who only know about cats and dogs you know? But I didn't have a lot of money to take him to a specialist so I'll try to go as soon as I can and I'll keep you posted in case someone else has this problem. Thank you for your responses!

Your welcome I know that if I was in your position I'd want seem help and I'm more then happy to give you my answer- but I'm not a vet...yet haha. I'm sorry to hear that but hopefully all is not lost and a vet that has a little more knowledge on piggies will be able to help you. :)and yes I'd love an update soon.

If you go to a specialist i.e. a cavy savvy vet, it costs no more than a normal vet.
If you go to the vet locator on the green bar, it will tell you who the closest cavy savvy vet is in your area.
