Well, having got Wilf I have thought that it would probably be best for him to have some other piggy company- the hutch is big enough for two as it is and he does seem a little lonely. However, how would you introduce a new piggy? I understand about the neutral territory, lots of hidey holes, towels on the ready for fights ect, but what about if they do fight? Would this then mean that they couldnt go in the hutch together? How long should you leave them in the neutral territory for? I just need some help really as to what I should do if they do fight, I really would like Wilf to have a friend as he doesnt seem completely happy, but then if he fights with his new friend, would that then mean that I couldnt have them together and therefore be back to square one?

Many thanks, Frankee&Wilf :)

Well, I took the plunge! I rang up the breeder who had a few left and we went and picked one up- they are getting on like a house on fire! :smitten: I left out two hideyholes but they both seem to prefer snuggling up in the furry one together, so I dont think the Pigloo is wanted ;D I've disinfected out the hutch and put new bedding and everything, so I'm leaving them in the neutral territory (our kitchen :D ) for a little while longer. I'm so glad I got Wilf a friend (and started my new piggy herd ;D )

Frankee, Wilf and as yet the unamed piggy :(

Thankyou! I have put them in the disinfected cage about half and hour ago- just went in to check everything was going okay and they were both snuggled up in their cozy cup together :smitten: bless them, I'm so happy the bonding appears to have gone well at the moment!

Thats great news, you can tell pretty quickly if they are going to hit it off O0

Still keep your eye on them, as they can get on for hours on the 1st intro and then out the blue have a fight. If they do lavender oil diluted with water in a spray bottle works great as it distracts them, plus sometimes can stop excessive grooming! Also as we all know some piggies over react and can make terrible sounds of pain, so keep with them. But for now its all going great! Glad the sad piggy seems happier! ;D

Hi again! Well after a night of extremely stormy weather, we had winds of up to 80mph and rain (luckily my piggies are in a brick shed!) I've just been out to check on them again and the first night appears to have gone well! Lemon coloured one (he REALLY needs a name! ;D ) was in the cozy cup, and as soon as I came in the door Wilf jumped in too :smitten: So it all seems to be okay at the moment, and thankyou for the tip of the diluted Lavender Oil charlenegfrank, I will keep that in mind :D

Its ok, any zesty smell helps too! Glad they are both getting on well!
