Help On Extending My Cage

I have the largest gpig cage I could find which I think is a little friends 160. I used to have a 120 which I have in the garage. I recently bought a run to attach to the cage which i want them to run in and out of but because of my room layout i cant. They do have alot of room however I would like to give them more. I cant have a cc cage as we have a dig and cat and i feel they would be able to get into it.
Any ideas?

You could always have a c&c cage but use the grids to make a top?

I like the idea of them but i just cant risk it especially with the dog who takes great interest in them.

all i can think is maybe lift it up, make a hole in the base, and have a little ramp leading down to another area - perhaps the 120 cage as a designated extra big hay room

I like biscandmatts idea especially if you don't wanna go the c and c cage with a top root.
