Hi, I have two piggies who we have in our smallish house, along with a dog and two children. The pigs have their cage in a space at the bottom of the stairs, which is essential for getting anywhere in the house. They have a nice light space but there's only about a metre space to walk past. Recently it seems that one of them has a fungal infection and I'm really stressed out. There doesn't seem to be a way we can contain it; I worry we've already picked it up! She's still living with her buddy (on vet advice) and I've started an oral fungal treatment, but I know we've a long way to go. Earlier she was standing near the edge of the cage having a bit of a groom and shaking her coat- potentially sending spores everywhere. Even trying to syringe her meds is difficult in that space.
I'm also due to go into hospital at the end of the week for some planned tests, and my partner (not a huge animal person) will be doing all the piggie treatment.

I wondered if anyone has any advice about what we could do?! Is there anywhere that might be able to foster in this kind of situation, or would that be seen as trying to shift responsibility onto someone else?! It is really that I honestly feel I'm not coping, because I can't see how I can avoid further contamination. Any advice much appreciated!

I haven't any personal experience of dealing with ringworm in piggies, but this is the forum guide to dealing with ringworm which should help Ringworm: Hygiene, Care And Pictures

It's good that you've got oral meds to treat it as they are the most efficient. Best of luck in clearing it up , i hope it hasnt spread yet. 🤞🙏
