I'm going to go for it and make one, my cages are so boring compared to the ones i see on here, ive looked into it a little but really need some good advice.
B & Q have the grids for £22.49 for 23, what size cage would this make? I'm looking at having 2 levels as not too much floor space going, how many do you think i would need? the other ones ive seen are in packs of 16 ( wickes and Ebay), so do i cjust connect them together with the clips and cable ties and use the grids for the floor of the second level with wood on the floor? I would love to make something spectacular! :))

I didn't use the connector's they always come off or snap and they take up room inside the cage so just cable tie's It depend's on what you got as to what size bigger for boar's tho

this is the one i have now the bottom 4 panel's lift up for cleaning

Great cage! How do you support the second level though? Is it sturdy? I was hoping to build something similar to this but wasn't sure how stable it would be.

Yoy don't need to support it anymore than the grids all the way round leave one grid out for the ramp tho

Ive tried to order c & c grids from b&q but there out of stock everywhere. :(
Ive looked on ebay and Wickes but they come in packs of 16, i think, so would need 2 packs plus the p&p , quite expensive. Does anyone know any where else that stocks them, or where i could buy them instore to save on postage? I'm having a neutered boar in 2 weeks to go with my female x) so would like it ready for then. x

Ive looked these up and i think i might order from here, just wandered if you had noticed that this seller states they are plastic coated steel, chew proof, all the other sellers of the grids are saying there made from metal? was just wandereing if it made any difference and what is the best to go for, i dont want them to be chewing stuff they shouldnt. I have the week off next week so am hoping to order soon so i can get started, how exciting!

Only one of my pig's bite's the bar's and that's when she's annoyed at me for putting food in the run (which join's the cage) instead of right next to her! it doesn't seem to be a problem really, I got correx from here http://www.theonestopplasticsshop.co.uk/polypropylene-correx-c-68_696.html they have lot's of colour's and are quite cheap they will do bigger sheet's if you phone up but i joined it because it was cheaper. I used 4 sheet's for my cage

Put what you want in your basket go to checkout then put your post code in and click update they also put vat on here about 1 pound a sheet. you can get see through from b and q not on website for £12 a sheet same size so it's not that different with delivery but you get colour's! I love making cage's i'm going to buy share's in cable tie's lol. just checked the bar's on my cage as you mentioned it and no damage but i do remember when i used it outside for a run before i used connector's you get with it and they chipped it at the corner's,the connector'sare no good anyway

Ive ordered them! just ordered one pack of grids to start with see how i get on, then may add another level after, they should be here by Wednesday. Husband will be well pleased (not),he already says i spend more time with the Guinea Pigs than him and that everything revolves around them.He did something bad the weekend so i think its payback time. lol.
