Hi i just now realized that my guinea pig has a scar or idk a patch on back of him , its greasy around and also the patch is sticky/super greasy and also have hair loss in that area which i can easily take off his little hairs down there , i tried to clear the patch with an alcoholic pad and he felt a little pain and screamed so i stopped, i see no blood or wound under it.
can anybody help me to know whats that and what should i do? please :(

If you are referring to your piggy’s grease gland, and it is dirty, then it can be cleaned.
If there is any sore, swollen or infected skin, then please see a vet.

Please don’t use an alcohol pad on your piggy. Warm water is all that should be used to clean them

Bathing (including cleaning grease glands)

i just take of the grease and its okay ig but hair lose there it has mostly when i grab some hairs

If it is his grease gland you can use a little coconut oil to clean it. But if it is sore or the skin is broken then I’d get it checked out as they can get infected. When I clean my boars grease gland hair does come off too as I think it’s hair that has fallen out naturally but was stuck by the grease.

Please have it checked by a vet if you are at all concerned as you don’t want to risk an infection starting .

its just same spot as grease gland should be i just didnt know about it i gelt some dry hairs like tock i grabbed them and they took of kinda easily with no pain for little piggly so i started to clean a little and it seems fine not smelly no pain and nothing kinda i just scared its be idk infection or sth bcz i never heared about it before

You did say in your first post that he squealed and felt a little pain. It might be because piggies have sensitive skin and as you used an alcohol pad then that hurt him but we can’t know if there is any broken skin or any other issue starting. It might also just be a bit dirty and need a clean but as we aren’t vets and can’t have hands on your piggy, then it’s always best to speak to a vet if you are concerned.
