Hi all

We adopted Buddy and Yum Yum about four months ago. Their enclosure is pretty spacious but I thought I might mix things up and change where things are, just to spice things up for them. Any ideas from you experienced owners would be appreciated. I’m also happy to buy them an extra thing or two if I’m missing something. They usually have a carrot cottage in there but we are still awaiting the next one to be delivered!

Pic of current set up below. There is a lettuce leaf pad in the fleece forest that they like to sit on which you can’t really see.

Thanks all! ☺️

Their cage set us is lovely, but I would consider some wooden items - maybe a tunnel or two that they could run through without loosing too much floor space?
Guinea pigs tend to enjoy chewing on wooden houses and tunnels, so this would offer extra stimulation for them.
I would also add some cardboard tubes and wooden toys for them to chew/throw around.

I would also make the tray under their hay rack slightly bigger, and add a huge pile of hay for them to play, burrow, and lay in. A hay rack is good (I use one for my own pigs for their 'special' hay, but a large pile of basic meadow hay is probabably one of their favorite things to play with.

I'm sorry my comment isn't very helpful, but this is the second bottle of Bombay Sapphire I've seen on here today - first a bartender budgie and now some 'gin-ny' pigs! Is this subliminal messaging to make me go out and buy some... :hmm:

(Lovely piggies, by the way!)

Haha - do it!

Thanks so much. They usually have the carrot cottage in their as well to chew on - its en route. Admittedly I am not great with hay mess, which is why they don't have any loose to play with. I do however often put a bunch in a paper bag which they love to play in. Haven't done it in a while so will do so today! They never seem to touch toilet rolls for some reason....

What's that white stuff at the back? Is it carefresh for there hay?

I would cover the carefresh area with big piles of floor hay, we have mostly fleece in our big cage but we have a 3x2 area of kaytee paper bedding that has floor hay and edible furniture like seagrass tunnels and carrot cottages and its where my piggies all spend most of their time! Our smaller 4x2 cage also has a 1x2 area just for messy floor hay :)
