What should i do? My lovely Stew is now on his own .Not sure if its me but he looks forlorn and lonely problem ive got is, he is the dominant one very bossy and i can't imagine him bonding with another male hes not neutered.
is it wrong to keep him on his own? or should i try a rescue. All he is doing is sitting in a corner will eat and drink when food is offered or he hides in his tunnel.
Any suggestions

I think different piggies react differently to loss. Some seem to take it in their stride while others react badly.

I think your best bet is to contact a local rescue for help as you may need a baby boar for a dominant boy. They will be able to advise best.

All guinea pigs are different and you may be able to find a less dominant boar that would love to live with him. Have you checked the rescue locator on here to see if they have any boars? I would get him a friend as he sounds very lonely. It will give him a new lease of life.

Boar bondings are very personality dependent. Just because he was the dominant boar last time doesn't mean he won't find a friend he gets on with.

The best way to get a good result is with the help of an experienced rescue. Try using our locator at the top of the page to find someone near you. I know there isn't always a rescue nearby but I can vouch for the fact it is worth travelling a bit to find the right companion for your boy. I have been to Stoke, Manchester, Doncaster and Keighley in search of the perfect men folk for my lads. It pays off to spend some time and get it right. Then your little guy has the best chance of happiness with a friend.

I am very sorry for your loss! it would be great if you could find a new friend for Stew!

The good news is that most boars can be rebonded, some easier than others. The best way to find a character compatible friend is by dating under expert supervision at a good rescue, so you only come home with a second piggy if there has been success. Boars mellow somewhat with age and are more hormonally settled. How old is Stew?

We have got a recommended rescues locator, which we can vouch for are all knowledgeable and of good standard.

Your closest good rescues are Cavy Corner in Doncaster and BARC in Barnsley. Milhaven in Keighley are also very competent, as is Honeybunnies by Leicester. These rescues are all within a feasible travelling distance.

I have repeatedly dated guinea pigs of mine in various rescues. It is well worth going that bit further, as you are maximising your changes for Stew and minimising any risk.

Here is Suzygpr's boar dating blog; it will hopefully help to give you courage. She is bonding boars of all ages (full residential boar bonding) at her rescue in South Wales:
