help I'm having boar issue

my two boys are adorable but i think they may have to be seperated. edward (black one in my avatar) is seriously annoying jacob his brother with his constant attempts at humping him. the poor thing is shattered after his constant chasing and humping attempts. i tried seperating them for a short time but as soon as i put Jacob back edward started all over again.
what can i do he looks so tired.

there has been a bit of squeeking but no injuries yet

It sounds like they are establishing dominance. If there is no actual fighting everything ok. My boars used to do this, and I tried separating them but as soon as I put them back together, they went back at it! I just ended up leaving them together, and they stopped soon after.

Have you got plenty of hideys in the cage? If you have two boars I'd suggest three hideys with exits so they cant bully one another into corners, and two of everything. If you can I'd suggest putting two hay racks (you could use tissue boxes as make shift ones) at either side of the cage/hutch so they can eat hay in peace, seperately if they want to. If you have hideys, tunnels and two of everything the next thing i can think of is if you can extending their cage so they have more space, if you cant is their any way of putting a wire mesh divider in the cage for a small period of time (ie 15mins)? So that they can still see one another, and smell one another, and it'll give them both a cooling down break.

Obsessive humping, bum sniffing, chasing, mounting, mild teeth chattering is all part of dominence behaviour, some boys work out their differences within a day some longer esp. in the hormonal months. Just try to ride through it, and let them sort whos top pig, i know its hard to watch but once they've storted whose who they're humping and rumble strutting will calm down i promise! x
