ok so it is 4.03am in the UK and i'm wide awake because my guineas have been running around with the, what i thought was less dominant, biting darce...ok bingly was biting *or attempting to* bite darce on the neck...also doing the rumble bum thingy.

darce got cuddles and cucumber...bing didnt.

anyway how bing is in the travel cage and darce is sleeping.

what should i do? i'm really worried i dont want to have to separate them but again with the its 4.06am and i'm awake thing...not all selfish though- i also dont want the boys fighting.

advice please...

thanks peeps

Lucie

Hi Lucie, how old are the 2 naughty boars? My two did exactly the same after about half a year together. Have they got there own water and food?

they're comming up for 6 months now...

i put their food in different places...but they share it!

:'(

i've still got them seperate but bing *the naughty one* keeps chewing the bars :'( i dont know what to do as i'm going to work soon and wont be back till tomorrow...

they keep talking to each other and darce keeps looking for his brother...am a bit concerned.

This is quite normal behaviour for boys love :( :( They're in their teens and they're throwing there weight around ::) 98) 98)
You might have to keep them separated till you can be there and start again, in a neutral area and make sure they've got two of everything O0 I understand how worried you are... i also went thru this :( but i was able to separate during the day with a mesh divider and then they'd get play time and some eating, lap time together :smitten: :smitten:
Paws crossed that you can get them to settle down again real soon :) :) :)

i just feel bad...darce is loving the big cage to himself...and bing keeps looking at me like am the devil!

i just feel a mean and nasty mummy :(

How are they today? Is there any way you can divide the cage like Glynis said, so they're still near each other and can smell each other? They might be ok - if they haven't actually hurt each other i.e shed blood, could you try reintroducing them on neutral ground? Let us know how it goes

I would definately try and divide the cage in half. Have you got some chicken wire or something similar?

sorry for the delay guys!

right we have friendly guys...they have a food space each now but still share, they were just grouchy with each other- its not happened since though bing is trying to be boss.

we will get there, thanks for the advise though guys- its appreciated.

I read that boars will stop fighting if they are bathed with a very mild (non sting) shampoo - perhaps a tiny amount of baby shampoo.

The cage/hutch must also be spottless and all odour removed with a spray `detol type` de-odourisor.

I have 2 young brothers who fight so I`m gonna try this on mine. I`ll let you know if it works.

hoping your boys start to get on well togther and stop waking you in the wee hours of the morning. boys will be boys whether they be piggies or not. boys always try to throw their weight around :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: perhaps give them the book so they can read how darcy and bingley were good friends    hugs and cuddles to you all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-*
