Right just when I though things were looking up for Davros, something has changed between Alfie and Rory. Here is a run down of the day.
Feed them and thought as husband would be in shed all day I would take down the persex between the cages and just leave the bars so Davros could interact. Well none would leave the bars alone all ignoring their yummy breakfast so I put the persex back.
3 hours later Alfie now wont stop humping Rory, Rory's teeth chattering back, and circling a bit. Both exhausted would lay down for a couple of minutes then start again. After an hour of no change I have put a grid between them. Rory is happy, Alfie is trying to get to Rory.

A side note last week Davros and Alfie had floor time together and I had to cut it short as Alfie was humping Davros (Same as today with Rory).

Right was it my fault for taking down the persex and have I upset my duo? Is humping to this extent normal? I have read back over various post and it seems a bit mixed. After an hour I was going to remove barrier, and if no change this evening I will try a bonding bath and deep clean everything.
Please help

Humping is very normal for boars and you have to tolerate that. Relentless humping however (where it gets to the degree that the humped boar can rest, eat, sleep and is losing weight) is a reason for separation. Some boars can go overboard, especially during the introduction/settling into new territory phase.

I don't mind if Rory doesn't :lol!:, So put them back together and see what happens? Would letting them get face to face with Davros upset the apple cart?

I wouldn't think that it would upset the apple cart anymore, so you may as well try and see how the trio get on together on neutral space. Please be aware that with boars that once you commit to an introduction, you have to go through the whole caboodle with it and sit it out - or you have to start right back at the beginning again (with much grumpier boars).

What you can do to help is a) add a piggy sized humping toy that may draw some of the inevitable humping fire (and humping will be very much part of any bonding!) and b) have a little tunnel or hidey/cardboard box with two exits that Rory can escape into and out of on another side without Davros being able to get in. Otherwise, strictly no furniture!
