hi there I hope this is the right place to put this and the start of the story is a bit long sorry:eek:.
I have two teddy guinea pigs that are in a two story hutch with a hutch hugger on it in the shed.
this morning I went out to uncover them they have a quilt over the top of the hutch too.
and I was shocked to find that the front of there hutch had been eaten away nearly to the bars in one place
the only thing I can think of is there is a rat in the shed:yikes: so glad that it did not get into them.
now when I bring the guinea pigs in which I do when I'm not at work they have a 100cm cage so they are now in this.
there is something in the shed to get rid of the rat they will not go back until the shed is made safe which will not be until
the weekend due to work but I'm stuck:doh: as to what to put in there cage. in the hutch they have megazorb and then hay.
when they come indoors normally I have two bit's of vet bed and use puppy pad as well.
so do I clean them out every day now there in the cage what do I use and also they are in the living room only place they can fit
so would it be a good idea to cover them over in the evening or will they be ok with there being light for so long
I'm really sorry once again this is so long  and help please :hug:thank you

OMG ! Thank goodness you found them in time !

You could use Megazorb indoors.

Are you planning to put them back in the same hutch ?

Scary stuff, you are doing the right thing to bring them in until you can make sure they are safe outside.

There's no need to cover them over, they will be just fine over the evening, just turn the lights out at bedtime as you normally would. They will probably come to enjoy seeing what's going on :)

I'm not sure still in a bit of shock I know some may say but there only guinea pigs but there my baby's
I have been into the shed and taken ever thing out of there hutch and cleaned it and sprayed it all but they will not be going back
until it's safe thank you for your help

Scary ! Glad they are safe and no harm came to them... Mine love and old cardboard box - I always pinch them from the supermarket when I see a piggy suitable one !
