Hey!
When one of my piggies died I was left with 1 who was around 3. I have only had them for 3 months so I am new to all of this. Fifi (the pig that was left) seemed to be not responsive and upset. So we bought two new pigs that are around 8 weeks old thinking she may almost act like a mother to them so possibly helping her loneliness. They have been together for around three days and Fifi doesn't seem keen. She won't let them near me and start grinding her teeth and nipping them if they come to close to me. Over the past few months Fifi has become quite attached to me and has gone as far as to crawl off other people to be with me. I was wondering if anyone has advice for trying to get the 3 of them bonded. The two young ones seem close and while one is quite dominant the other is less. Fifi is also quite a dominant femAle so will they clash due to their personalities? Thank you for your help.

Your girls have already bonded and are going currently through the dominance phase while they are establishing the hierarchy.

Fifi is obviously quite jealously guarding her privileged access to you; she seems to see you as her special human and treats you the same way as she does the favourite hidey etc., which is hers to choose as the top sow. She is making clear to the youngsters that you are hers, and hers alone! things should relax more once the dominance is over. Make sure that you always handle, feed and treat Fifi first. ;)
