I cut the quick of my guinea pig while trimmer her nails. In 8 years it's never happened and she bled so much. I think it stopped bleeding. Do I need to do anything else? I put it in flour, cleaned it, put ointment and put pressure on with a cotton ball. Do I do that every day? Should I take her to the vet?

Try not to worry, we’ve all been there!

If it has stopped bleeding and has clotted off with the flor then she should be ok. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t start bleeding again.
A vet check is a good idea if you are worried or if she lost a lot of blood, or if any signs of infection or pain.

My Phoebe was a terrible wriggler and without fail I ended up cutting one of her quicks.
I just made sure there was always a bowl of cornflour at hand and my top was one I didn’t mind getting bloodstained.
