This is my silver Rex and today I was doing a health check when I’ve spotted that both of his top teeth are broken (the right one is completely out)! I’ve called the vet and made an appointment for the 15th but it’s still ages till that! Please someone tell me what I could do to help! (His anus is also purple)! He is only around five months old so it can’t be old age! SOMEONE HELP!

@furryfriends (TEAS) is good with dental problems for help.

His nose doesn't look too good either, I can see crust around it.

I would get him a full over health check if you can

Hi!

Do your vets have a daily emergency slot for which you could apply? Please enquire or see whether there is another vet you can have him seen sooner.

Please cut any veg into thin slices or grate it for easier pick up. Softer veg and fresh herbs will be better. mush up the pellets if he struggles to pick them up and see whether your boy can still eat hay. Weigh daily at the same time in order to monitor the food intake.

Please post a picture of the genitalia so we can see whether the colour is normal for the skin or whether it needs to be vet checked more urgently. We cannot comment from just your remarks.

PS: We are trying to answer any thread on this forum as soon as we can, seeing that we are doing it for free in our free time. You can help us much more by putting the problem in the title so we can deal with the most urgent first and members with personal experience can help you with practical tips, too.
It would also help us if you please added your country, state/province or UK county to location in your account details to make it appear with any post you make and allow us to tailor any advice to what is relevant and available where you are straight away. We are quite literally dealing with members and enquiries from all over the world and from very different backgrounds, climates, veterinary access with differing medical brand names. Thank you!

Yes, I forgot to mention it but his nose if always crusty, no matter how much I clean it, the next day the same thing happens (this does not happen to my other guinea pigs)! I’ll attach a picture of his genitalia down bellow! (I don’t think this is normal as none of my other boys have this)!

Hi!

The penis looks normal to me but your boy could do with a clean of his penis as there is quite a bit of a build-up of smegma around it. You only need to worry if the penis is looking decided blue.
Here is our boar care guide again: Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths

However, if whatever is sticking between the nose has not come off or is spreading/getting worse, I would recommend to have that checked when you see a vet. it may just be a little dried snot from a big sneeze after some hay dust or dirt has got up his nose.
