I think my piggy is suffering from a brain damage but I don’t know how to help him it’s late and his been doing it for about 7 hours now. His tilting his head to the side and rolling his eyes while doing it. I unfortunately can’t go to the vet and don’t know if I’ll be able to afford it. Anywhys it’s 4 am and I can’t stand watching him he can’t walk properly he can only walk in circle and tips over so please help if you can with any advice please. He does seem aware of his surroundings and does eat like he normally does this is the first time and I can’t comprehend how this happens because he was perfectly fine.

I’m so sorry your piggy is unwell. All we can recommend is that he really needs to be seen by a vet.

If he’s eating ok maybe it’s an ear infection. It might be easily treated. Good luck

I’m sorry that he’s unwell. As above, if he’s eating and otherwise acting normal, it could be something like an ear infection which can be easily treated but only a vet can diagnose a potential illness and prescribe the correct prescription strength medication

Why are you unable to get him to a vet? Some vets can offer payment plans so your not having to pay it all at once. It's really important he sees a vet. Even if it is something minor like an ear infection Guinea pigs rarely get better on there own without veterinary treatment.

I think that if he could have gotten over this on his own he would have done it before it got this bad - it won't go away on its own. Inner ear infection - quite treatable - can be one of the causes but there are also other things and it is better to know what is happening to him as soon as possible. Unfortunately vet fees are are a part of pet ownership. Put yourself in his position... what would you need your owner to do?

Here is a link to vets in SC from the guinea lynx pages - hope there's someone near to you that you can call for advice

Hi

BIG HUGS

It is so distressing and heart-breaking when you see your pets suffer and feel utterly helpless.
It could be something in his ear (from an insect getting into the outer ear to an infection or a neurological issue affecting the balance); but without an examination, it is impossible to tell.

Unfortunately, you will need to see a vet as soon as you can if at all possible (I know that the timing is about the worst possible since US vets do not open over the weekend).

Here are very helpful links to our detailed care advice and information for neurological problems and emergency/end of life care tips:

Wishing you and your poor piggy all the best. There is unfortunately very little you can do outside of general comfort and feeding support with serious neurological problems apart from considering euthanasia to spare them any unncessary suffering as much as you can under the circumstances. :(
