A dumb question but really concerened. Today when’s a I cleaned my guniea pig’s water bottle, the cap falls to the kitchen sink. I always tend not to do it, but I not carefully do it. I think there are many bacterias that are unhealthy to guniea pigs. Is it safe?

Yes, It’s fine. Wash it with soap if you are worried but I honestly don’t see there being a problem.

The article said there are dozens of bacterias in the sink. However, I think it is fine because I washed it for five seconds right? Even if I don’t wash it, is it a problem just curious?

Can’t count the number of times I’ve dropped the the bottle top in the sink. Give it a rinse and it’ll be fine!

Unless you’ve got a really grotty sink or had raw meat in there, it would probably be fine anyway, just give it a rinse with hot water, use soap if you’re worried but remember to rinse all the soap out before giving it back to your pigs

I think basically I washed the cap about 5-10 seconds and then pour some water in and out. Is it easier for bacteria to get inside?

I really think you are worrying unnecessarily. Nothing bad is going to happen because of dropping the cap

Unless your sink has had moulding plates and cups in there (which would be bad for you), there really is nothing to worry about. There are germs everywhere I’m afraid. But being extremely clean also isn’t good.

So You mean if there are plates when I drop the cap or? If this statement is correct, when I drop it, there are no dishes and plates.

As stated above - just wash it thoroughly in hot water... if you are THAT worried boil a cup of water and drop it in there... Don't stress!

I mean that unless your sink is generally dirty and you usually keep mouldy plates and cups in it without cleaning, then you can worry. But I’m sure it’s clean for you, therefore it’s clean for them. Please don’t worry about that.

But many people said the dirtiest place is the kitchen sink. I washed it by water but not soap. Is it fine? For about five seconds?
I always rinse their water bottles with vinegar. Vinegar gets rid of residue that is inside the bottle and I feel better after rinsing with vinegar.
Mine also get purified water that I drink daily.
